Amazon CEO Invents Airbags For Your Cell Phone
We've all either done information technology or had nightmares about it: dropping an expensive mobile device. Well, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos thinks he has the solution–cellular telephone airbags.
Bezos reportedly practical for a manifest in February 2010 for an airbag system for wandering phones and other portable devices. Just ready-made state-supported on Friday, the patent application details a system in which the twist would detect it is existence dropped and would deploy some type of damage aegis system, so much as an airbag.
"While the size and weight of man-portable devices urinate them convenient to stock approximately, these characteristics often make water them more susceptible to terms and loss," the application explains. "With the number of cellular phones in use exceeding several billion and repairs typically exceeding $25, the costs of damage and personnel casualty of cellular phones amounts to billions of dollars per year."
The technology would deploy the airbags in such as way so that the shock would be absorbed by the airbag inaugural. This would soften the reversal and make the difference between a shattered screen and a gimmick with a couple of nicks and scrapes.
It might non live an airbag that saves your phone: Bezos' idea says springs could be used alternatively, or perchance an riddance of air (is your device going to land like a spaceship?), operating theater maybe even a combination of these ideas.
